Last week 20 EU Athletes members were in Brussels to discuss about Player development and transition for athletes.
EU Athletes PDM project “Improving player associations support for dual career” will run in 2014 with the financial support of the European commission.
Brussels was the first stop of the year for the 20 player associations. During the 3 days seminar they have been able to discuss with the EU sports unit and exchange on various topics such as :
– support for dual career services
– measurement of effective programmes
– how to collect funding
– dual career and young athletes.
Part of the project for the association will be to conduct some job shadwing with other associations taking part in the project. The Speed networking event gave them the unique opportunity to define where they were planing to go as part of this exchange.
each association will travel for 3 days to see in action how others associations are dealing with the issue of dual career for athletes and take some best practices back to there own association.
